My name is Mark and live in the coast of West Wales in the UK.
I have had an interest in space, science and astronomy since I was a child. This was really never tapped into. This was rekindled a number of years ago whilst shooting widefield astrophotography landscapes.

I am now working in a role which involves less hours and has given me the freedom that I have not had for a long time to really delve deeper into various aspects of amateur astronomy.
Dyfiastro along with this site is a new long term project and will be primarily used to document experiences as I venture deeper into a not so new hobby, astronomy and astrophotography.
Living in such a remote area of the UK give access to some of the darkest skies available within short distances of my home (indeed my back garden where a lot of my learning will take place is darker than around 60% of the UK).
